Let no challenge go unmet.

Featuring a signature Arnold Palmer course. With 11 holes framed by majestic views of the Sound you may find your biggest challenge one you don’t care to meet – keeping your eye on the ball.

The Championship Golf Course is an extraordinary collaboration between Arnold Palmer and Mother Nature. Friends and family members who are golfers are sure to love it. The course, described as the “Jewel of the Inner Banks,” was named “America’s Ninth Best New Private Course” by Golf Digest.

PalmerMr. Palmer knew from the beginning that this special property overlooking the picturesque Albemarle Sound, Chowan River and Salmon Creek, offered an opportunity to provide the finest golf and club experience in the eastern Carolinas.  Palmer took on the challenge to enhance the natural beauty of the land and create a 7,262 yard world-class golf experience.

As the vision evolved, Scotch Hall Preserve with it’s 900 plus acres offers stunning views of the historical Albemarle Sound, Chowan River and Salmon Creek along with a challenging course designed for all players.  Complementing the world –class Arnold Palmer Signature Course will be it’s upcoming clubhouse offering social venues for Scotch Hall’s members and guests, as well as a 107 slip marina.

Arnold Palmer is many things to many people… world famous golf immortal and sportsman, highly successful business executive, prominent advertising spokesman, skilled aviator, talented golf course designer and consultant, devoted family patriarch and a man with a down-to-earth common touch that has made him one of the most popular and accessible public figures in history.

His popularity and success grew with the tremendous golf boom in the latter half of the 20th Century to heights few ever anticipated and his successes have been recognized in countless ways over the years.  Arnold Palmer has amassed more than 92 championships in professional competition of national or international stature during his more than 50 year career.  He is a four time winner of the Masters, two time British Open winner and winner of the U.S. Open.

Our Instructors

Daniel Sumerel – Director of Golf

With over 15 years in the golf industry I have taught lessons from juniors to seniors, from beginners to the more advanced golfers. I thoroughly enjoy teaching the game to beginners, hoping to teach them a lifelong game they can experience with their friends and families for generations. I also enjoy teaching the more advanced player that wants to make their games better, lower their handicaps, and improve their knowledge of course management. I started the game at age 12, after my father was bit by the golf bug. He would take me to play during summer break and that is where my passion for the game began. From that moment I have been fully involved with the game from junior golf, to high school, to college, and to my career. I hope to bring you as much enjoyment in the game as I have experienced over the years.
