Editor’s Note: This blog is part of our on going series: My Scotch Hall Preserve. This series is dedicated to personal stories about our beautiful community and what it offers to those who enjoy it.
I sometimes wonder if I have a split personality. That if there are actually two distinctive people inhabiting one body.
There is hard working, ‘Type A’, attached to my iPhone, city dweller Girl. Running hard (in heels, no less) and loving it.
Then there is my Scotch Hall Preserve Girl. The girl that can sit for hours on the marina dock watching the sun slowly set over the ancient Cypress. The Girl who could live in that moment forever. The Girl whose iPhone’s lost somewhere in the Sound front cottage while she sits on the back patio counting the stars. The Girl who loves driving through the purple Sage fields where she sees no neon, no sign of her city life. The Girl with imperfect wind blown hair, barefoot and laughing off the side of a boat.
Maybe she is really only one lucky girl. A girl lucky enough to be only a short drive from both her ‘true selves’.
