Daniel Sumerel

General Manager

With over 15 years in the golf industry, Daniel has worked in both private and public operations focusing on customer service and the customer experience. Daniel has led the golf operation at Scotch Hall since 2011 and had been on staff since 2010. Prior to 2010, he worked at notable courses close to his hometown of Four Oaks, North Carolina. One experience led him to interning for the PGA Tour at TPS Wakefield. He attended North Carolina State University and focused his studies on a degree in Business Management. Gaining valuable experience along the way, Daniel has applied his education and knowledge of golf course operations to grow Scotch Hall year over year during his tenure. In the summer of 2015, Daniel studied at the HPW Real Estate School and became a licensed Real Estate Broker for Scotch Hall Preserve Realty. Daniel is also a Realtor and a member of the National Association of of Realtors. Gerald Whitley

Broker in Charge, SHP Realty, LLC

With 25 years of sales /marketing and sales management experience, Gerald began his real estate career as a top sales executive for Reynolds Plantation, a luxury lakefront resort and golf community on Lake Oconee, near Greensboro, Georgia. He later joined the sales team at St. James Plantation in Southport, North Carolina, where he enjoyed a successful selling career prior to moving into sales management. During his career, Gerald has held sales / marketing, sales management or consulting positions with some of the most successful recreational resort communities in America, while helping to generate over 1,750 sales and $950 million in revenues. He served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Reunion Resort & Club in Orlando, Florida where he was responsible for the start‐up and management of all marketing and sales programs, as well as recruiting and training a 21 person sales and marketing team. Gerald was responsible for directing the inaugural launch of the community that resulted in over $45 million in sales as well as managing the traditional sales programs that followed.

Gerald served as Director of Sales with Promontory Club in Park City, Utah where he managed all real estate operations for the developer. His responsibilities included recruiting and training a 25 person sales and administrative team that continuously exceeded developer sales goals and objectives, developing a cooperative broker program for Park City real estate brokers, and managing the company’s resale program. During Gerald’s three tenures at Promontory, he was directly responsible for leading the sales teams’ collective achievements of 453 sales for over $329 million, consistently dominating the market place. Brought back in 2013 to bring focus on developer sales, the sales team under his leadership increased developer sales by 64% in one year.

Gerald is a graduate of Mars Hill University (North Carolina) and is a licensed real estate broker. He was an avid athlete including college and minor league professional football. Today, he enjoys personal training, hiking, biking, backpacking and snowboarding with his three daughters. Also, has been a snowboard instructor for four seasons with Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah.

Lindsey Lang

Director, Overnight Accommodations

Lindsey has been with Scotch Hall since Sept 2016, where she started working at The Shed.  In March 2017, she transition to the position of Office Manager/Director of Overnight Accommodations.

She is originally from Beaufort County, and recently relocated to Edenton, NC.  Lindsey graduated from Northside High School in 2004 and is very proud of the work she did as a commercial fisherman with her father every Summer.  After graduating high school, she attended BCCC and received her EMT certification in June 2005, which she still holds.  For the last 14 years, Lindsey served as an Emergency Medical Technician to various agencies up and down the coast, including supervising 2 different office locations for a non-emergency medical transport service.

She is a happy mother of 3, 2 girls & 1 boy, and married for 8 years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors. Hunting, fishing and tending to our mini farm animals is a big part of her life.

Nate Brill

Head Golf Professional

Originally from London, Ohio, Nate moved to Raleigh in 2010 to further his career in golf. His passion for golf didn’t begin until his adulthood while serving in the United States Air Force, but once it caught, there was no stopping its spread. After completing his military career, Nate’s passion for the game of golf ultimately grew from being a member of a country club to eventually pursuing the path of becoming a golf professional. In 2007, he graduated from the Golf Academy of America – Myrtle Beach and since then has held several different golf positions, including support staff, tournament director,  and member of the Board of Directors. His golf accolades include the 2008 and 2009 Men’s Club Champion at London Country Club in London, OH.  Nate was previous working at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, NC before joining the Scotch Hall Preserve family 2018. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, watching and talking sports, and improving his knowledge of golf.
